History[]
It is unknown weather or not 3rd class was canonically part of the train before the Retrofit into Snowpiercer started. Considering the Global Express was a high-end luxury cruise train the style of 3rd class does not entirely support the idea of third class being part of the train originally. When the conversion into an ark train took place, it is unknown how much was changed. Passengers with third class tickets are mainly blue collar crew members undertaking manual labor such as; janitors, paper makers, tunnel men, ag.sec, sanitation etc.
Technology[]
Each cabin door consists of RFID palm scanners. To open the door, one must scan their palm. The door will unlock and the door can then be pulled open.
A public address speaker is fitted above the entrance door.
Interior[]
Although each couchette is small, they are designed so passengers in third class have their own personal accommodations on the train. Couchettes' feature a multipurpose couch which can be made into a bed. Above is a fold-down bunk to accommodate multiple passengers. Next to this: a sink unit with dish racks. a small window and a folding table attached to the car wall next to this.
