This is just the beginning Andre, he's going to take everything.
Miss Audrey after Big Alice stopped Snowpiercer.

Miss Audrey is a main character on TNT's Snowpiercer. She is portrayed by Lena Hall.

History[]

Background[]

When she was 18, Audrey was already a high-end escort. Private parties for the most powerful men and women in Chicago. They would go on for days, these parties, and they were all on Wilford's trains. She was Wilford's exclusively for years. It paid in gold, but she lost everything.[2]

At some point, Wilford made Audrey cut her wrists and she fell unconscious, in a bathtub of water with Wilford in it. He later claimed, "But I saved you."[2]

Wilford and Audrey traveled to the Forbidden City together at some point and climbed the steps of the Drepung Monastery.[3] Most of the albums that Audrey made, were about Wilford.[3]

When Wilford foresaw the Earth would be frozen, she staked her future on a single trade. A life with him for a place on Snowpiercer.[2]

Throughout The Series[]

Season 1[]

Sentiments with Layton[]

Audrey is instantly willing to help Andre Layton in his search for the train murderer and pledges to make all information from the Night Car known. She furthers her friendship/alliance with him when she reveals that Melanie Cavill must be hiding something given she will not allow her guard down.[4]

Voicing the protests of Third Class[]

Following the announcement that LJ Folger will stand trial by a tribunal, Miss Audrey begins to start unrest aboard Snowpiercer in a bid to be heard. When she finally is heard, she tells Melanie Cavill that the Nightcar wants a representative from Third on the tribunal; she demands that the tribunal be representative of all those aboard. Melanie remarks that what she is asking is a difficult decision, however, Miss Audrey warns her that the Night Car — and Third — are involved in all running's of the train and will be heard no matter what.

Miss Audrey is satisfied when her demands are met, and appears at LJ's trial to give a speech on behalf of Nikki Genêt. When LJ is found guilty, Audrey looks on in solace until the decision is overturned by "Mr. Wilford" and LJ's sentence is commuted.[5]

Season 2[]

Betrayal[]

When Mr. Wilford reappears with Big Alice to claim Snowpiercer, he invites Audrey to stay with him. He appears to have a strong influence on her, as in the past, Audrey has been seen slitting her wrists as an oath of loyalty to him, just like Kevin did. She agrees to stay on Big Alice, thus betraying her previous allies and friends on Snowpiercer. Although she was considered one of the leaders on Snowpiercer, she mentions that her responsibility towards the people left her feeling overwhelmed, and this is one of the reasons she left them behind to give control to Mr. Wilford.

Audrey is later kidnapped by Layton and used as a hostage to ensure Wilford's good behavior.

Season 3[]

Prisoner[]

For the next six months, Audrey is a prisoner on the Pirate Train. Unlike Sykes who makes the most of the experience, earning a degree of trust from the crew, Audrey remains beligerent and loyal to Wilford, even leading a brief attempted mutiny with the help of Martin Colvin without success and being returned to her imprisonment.

During the confrontation between the Pirate Train and Wilford's Rolling Gulag, Layton uses Audrey as a distraction for Wilford as a part of his plan to retake the train.

Exile[]

After Snowpiercer and Big Alice are reconnected, Layton has Sykes exile Audrey to Third Class. Audrey struggles to adapt to her new lifestyle and the broken man that Wilford has become, falling into alcoholism for a period of time. However, she begins befriending Bess Till and breaking away from Wilford's hold on her for good. At Till's request, Audrey helps the comatose Layton. During the three-way conflict that breaks out between Layton, Melanie Cavill and Wilford, Audrey chooses not to side with Wilford and says a final goodbye to him when Wilford is exiled on the Track Scaler.

A New Beginning[]

When Snowpiercer and Big Alice separate, Audrey decides to stay behind on Snowpiercer rather than going to New Eden. At the last minute, Till decides to stay behind with her and the two women begin a romantic relationship. Having proven herself and earned another chance, Audrey is restored to head of the Night Car and sings "Blacklisted" as Big Alice makes the rough journey to New Eden.[6]

Season 4[]

Snowpiercer Takeover[]

Three months after the separation of the trains, International Peacekeeping Forces lead by Admiral Anton Milius arrive on Snowpiercer. Audrey is one of the people to greet them and is surprised to meet other survivors.[7]

After Till is non-fatally shot, Audrey runs to the Hospitality Car where she triggers the panic button, warning Melanie and Miles of the danger. Following Melanie and Bennett's escape, Audrey is taken to the Library Car by Milius' forces to be interrogated and then locked in the Market Car which is partially breached in an effort to force Melanie to surrender. Audrey helps to keep the other passengers calm until Melanie manages to rescue them.

Nine months later, after Miles overhears Milius talking about an ambush on New Eden, Till decides to take a Track Scaler to warn their friends. As Audrey departs from the cold lock, she is attacked by a member of Animal Squad and gets sprayed in the face with the contents of a hose that they're wearing, burning her face and neck. With Till struggling with the soldier, Audrey has Bennett launch her instead in the hopes of warning their friends in time.[8]

New Eden[]

A year after the trains separated, a badly injured Audrey arrives at New Eden in a Track Scaler. She is found by Layton who happened to be walking along the tracks at the time of her arrival. Audrey manages to warn Layton that "they're coming," and he takes her to the settlement for treatment. At the same time, one of Milius' men kidnaps Liana Layton with the help of Mrs. Headwood.[7]

After waking up, Audrey tells the story of what happened on Snowpiercer to Layton and the other New Eden residents, lamenting that she had arrived too late to stop the attack.[8]

When Big Alice returns to New Eden with a number of rescued Snowpiercer passengers, including Till, she asks Ruth about Audrey's state. Ruth tells her that Audrey has burns to her face and neck and is refusing to see anyone, although Till's arrival will presumably change that. When Till asks about Audrey's lungs and if she can still sing, Ruth just silently puts on one of Audrey's records and hands it to Till who had wanted to hear her voice again.[9]

Personality[]

Audrey was very vocal about the cruelty of the social differences aboard Snowpiercer and pursued opportunities to demand more social conscience on the train.[5]

Relationships[]

Nikki Genêt[]

Whilst Miss Audrey and Nikki were never seen together, the two had a close relationship wherein Audrey acted as a mother figure to Nikki during her work — a common occurrence in the Night Car.

Following Nikki's death, Audrey advocates for strict punishment and acts as the voice of Third, pleading — or threatening — with Melanie Cavill to punish accordingly. At the trial of LJ Folger, Audrey gives a speech about Nikki and her loyalty to the Night Car.[5]

Memorable Quotes[]

Season 1[]

Prepare to Brace[]

Miss Audrey: "I Found Nikki in the room with Edward, her regular. She had no idea what was happening. Drugged, I was sure, by the real killer. But Mr. Wilford needed a quick resolution. A body in The Drawers!"
Till: "This time will be different."
Layton: "Just for context, what was Melanie Cavill’s role back then?"
Miss Audrey: "That’s a good question. It’s her lips to God’s ears, isn’t it?"
―  Layton asks Miss Audrey about the murder as well as seeking Melanie’s true role.
Clay: "On the house. Old world spirits."
Miss Audrey: "A little something special, for your service."
Layton: "What service is that?"
Miss Audrey: "You can reverse a Wilford injustice. That hope is a short supply in third."
―  Clay and Miss Audrey gives Layton a beer.

Without Their Maker[]

Layton: "I’m sorry for your loss."
Miss Audrey: "If the killer’s from First, they’ll only let you get so far. And there won’t be any justice for Nikki."
Layton: "How’s Third gonna take that? Both victims are theirs."
Miss Audrey: "Huh. That remains to be seen, Detective."
―  Miss Audrey talks to Layton before he heads to the 1st Class Dining.

Justice Never Boarded[]

We didn't come this far, suffer this much, to give in to the same tyranny that destroyed us in the first place. Even on a frozen, dead planet, humanity needs hope.
— Miss Audrey's opening dialogue.
Miss Audrey: "Recommend a new tribunal."
Melanie Cavill: "Or what?"
Miss Audrey: "Don't make me threaten you, Melanie. Third touches every system on this train. We will be heard."
―  Miss Audrey and Melanie Cavill.

You need to care about the lives of Third, because seven days a week, three shifts a day we keep the bearings greased and the cold at bay. We draw straws to have children and we die from preventable accidents and diseases you get treatment for. I haven't come to this place easily. When we left Chicago we needed Mr. Wilford's iron order to survive. But almost 19 revolutions later, seven years, I know all of you, and I know we need to save our souls
— Miss Audrey's Testimony in LJ's Trial.

The Train Demanded Blood[]

Jakes: "Our supporters tell us the Jackboots are stacking up at the front, The whole army is gathering."
Till: "Yeah, we should move now. Beat them to the punch."
Miss Audrey: "No, we need to reinforce the barricades. Keep what we hold."
Doctor Pelton: "37 confirmed dead. God knows how many more uptrain."
―  Layton, Till and Miss Audrey discusses the next move.
