Intro[]
“ | When the cold comes for you, the blood stops running to your limbs. It pulls up inside to keep your organs warm. My first love told me that. An off-shore roughnecker, he was. Tall and lean and tough as wet leather. He'd say, "Ruthie, your smile keeps me warm, so be sure to wear it 'til I'm home." Next, the cold comes for your mind. And after that, your will. And yet, still, the heart fights on. (...) He left me too soon, my roughneck love. His rig went down with every man aboard. But I know my smile kept him warm as he floated, all alone. Just as I know our hearts will be the last thing to go on Wilford's train, 1,023 cars long. | ” |

Plot[]
Aboard Wilford's Rolling Gulag, Ruth shares her perspective to us, confirming she wouldn't give up as her heart will be the last to go. She realized that there's a number of Jackboots keep checking something at the Tail of the Rolling Gulag. She investigated further and saw that they are secretly working on a weapon. She send a message to Pike via her rat pet, informing the resistance that Wilford is secretly working on something. Meanwhile Joseph Wilford is chilling on his bathtub in Big Alice's Engine with Mrs. Headwood and Kevin McMahon discussing that it is a big day ahead.
On the Pirate Train, Asha is slowly recovering with Josie and Layton checking up on him. Bennett explained that Asha survived 8 years outside by living off the residual power as the reactor cools. The group examine the ice sample and found out that the temperature is indeed rising, but not enough to be habitable. Till and Alex started to be worried since it is the fifth place in Melanie's model that is not warm enough, which leaves them to one final place: The Horn of Africa. Josie remarks that the food isn't enough to get there anymore, especially with another person aboard. Layton suggested that they reconnects with Wilford's Rolling Gulag then take everyone there. Alex and Till are concerned about getting everyone there but Layton told them not to worry. Later Layton went on and check on Asha, she finally regained consciousness. Layton calm her down while she anxiously tries to find her suit, he later take her to Library Car and show her out of the window. Asha is surprised how the train had survived this long.
Back on Wilford's Rolling Gulag, Javi helped Wilford and Mrs. Headwood test out their new EMP weapon at 10%. The weapon released a huge electromagnet wave that bumped the train hard. Wilford is pleased by the testing results. In the meantime Pike visits Ruth in her hideout at 1st Class Dining. Pike asks Ruth not to risk and spies outside but Ruth said that she wouldn't just sit around and be useless. In the Night Car, Osweiller proposed to LJ Folger. The two make their way to the Eternal Engineer to tell him the good news. Wilford said that he would set up the wedding ceremonial tomorrow. Zarah took the Cakemaker out of Big Alice's Compost Car. Pike later took Zarah to a corner and told her that Ruth wants to talk with Javi about the EMP weapon.
Aboard the Pirate Train, Alex and Ben is working on the way to find Wilford's train. Ben comforts Alex about Melanie. Layton keeps seeing this vision of the Dragon Blood Tree, he went to the Library Car to find books about it and found out that it only grows on the Horn of Africa. He talked to Till but she doesn't approve of telling the crew and doesn't believe about Layton's vision. Meanwhile Josie take Asha to stay in Steward's Quarters. Asha is still shocked about the whole thing.
Back on Wilford's Train, Osweiller is pissed that LJ is greedy of power so much. Oz said that a small ceremony is more than enough but LJ adores Wilford and admit that he could help the two of them rule the train some day. Oz walked away angrily. Meanwhile Zarah approached to Javier who is still in a deep trauma from Jupiter's attack. Zarah told Javi that it's just the two of them and they could talk together but Javi doesn't reply. Trivia[]
- The title of the episode is a line in Ruth Wardell's opening dialogue, implying about how she would never give up no matter what she has to lose. Later in the episode Asha would also say that her little nephew was "the last one to go (die)".
- On AMC Plus, this episode is mistitled as The Last Go.
- It's revealed that there's surviving rats on the train which are used as message couriers by Ruth and the resistance.
- Bennett determines that the location checked out in The Tortoise and the Hare won't be habitable for a century "give or take" as, even though it's warming, the trend isn't steep enough to be habitable yet. This is the same as the other four locations that they had checked out, leaving only one possible location left for recolonization. However, the train lacks the resources necessary to make the journey there.
- The remaining location is in the southern Arabian Peninsula on the Horn of Africa which is stated to look promising.
- The Pirate Train is once again referred to as Snowpiercer while the train that was left behind is simply called "Wilford's train" in Ruth's opening monologue and Wilford simply calls it "our train." The only time that it's referred to as Layton's Pirate Train in dialogue is when Wilford is preparing to freeze Ruth's arm off at the end.
- After Layton tells Asha that she's on Snowpiercer, she isn't confused by what that is and is surprised that it survived, which means that the Wilford Industries Global Express was also known as Snowpiercer before it was secretly turned into an ark.
- LJ and Oz get engaged and married.
- Oz's full name is revealed to be John Christopher Osweiler.
- Layton identifies the Dragon's Blood Tree from his vision which he discovers only grows in Socotra, near the Horn of Africa.
- Strong Boy is seen speaking full sentences in English for the first time since regaining the ability to talk after being rescued from the Drawers.
- It's revealed that Wilford had only put in the ports to freeze people's arms off as an idle threat, but that Ruth had used them 13 times.
- However, Layton said 13 people lost an arm in First, the Weather Changed and Ruth then removed Suzanne's in Prepare to Brace.
- The Earth's satellites are degrading, making navigation much harder for the trains, along with tracking each other.
