Winnipeg, better known as "Winnie" is a recurring character in TNT's Snowpiercer. She is portrayed by Emma Oliver.
History[]
Winnipeg was born aboard Snowpiercer in the Tail section. Her name came from an old Tailie tradition, to name a baby after the nearest city. She was named after a city in Canada.
Throughout The Series[]
Season 1[]
She is seen aiding the Tailes (failed) revolution attempt by using a severed hand of the Jackboot to open a door to the next car and was greeted by armed jackboots.[1] Not long later Ruth would attempt to have her arm frozen of due to her involvement in the revolution but Winnie’s mother, Suzanne, intervened and offered her arm instead of Winnie, in which Ruth accepted. Winnie hugged her brother, Patterson, watching in horror along with other Tailies when Suzanne's prominent arm got shattered in The Freeze.[2]
Later, she along with several other tailies saw a projection of the outside world.
When her mom died, she is shown to be distraught.
After her she is informed of her older brothers death she gives a small distraught look before being conforted by
She and several other Taile children would be the first ones in snowpiercer to notice that the Tail door was being opened and presummably told someone nearby.
Season 2[]
While the other passengers where rioting against the tailes, she was uptrain during that time and attempted to flee back to the tail but witnessed Pike being attacked by several people before hiding in the exterior observation room and saw the outside world. Later Ruth would go to her location to saftly extract her from the danger area, during the time Ruth was trying to convince Winnie to follow her, she apologized about her actions and empathized with her, convincing Winnie to follow her back to the tail.
Season 3[]
She is first seen attending one of Mrs. Gillies classes before being called (secretly) to send a message.
Personality[]
Due to the enviroment she grew up in, she is shown to be mature and always follows orders of anyone she trusts. She's also super vigilant as she's the first one who heard Melanie trying to disconnect Snowpiercer and Big Alice in The Time of Two Engines in The Tail.
